2016 EVSRA Season Opener COMPETED IN COMPETITIVE ONLY

Lake Whitehurst is a beautiful freshwater lake adjacent to the Norfolk International Airport providing sheltered rowing for up to six boats at a time.
The regatta grounds provide exceptional spectator viewing for the last 1000 meters of the 1,400 meter scholastic course. Facilities include modern heated restrooms, picnic facilities and access to the world class collection of plants, shrubs and flowers in the incomparable Norfolk Botanical Garden.
DIRECTIONS TO LAKE WHITEHURST
From the West and North via I-64
After crossing the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel, travel approximately seven miles eastbound on I-64. Exit onto Norview Avenue at Exit 279, following signs to the airport. Stay on Norview Avenue for one mile. Turn left onto Azalea Garden Road. The Botanical Garden entrance is .60 of a mile on the right. Please follow parking directions after entering the Garden.
INFORMATION FOR REGATTA DAY
Parking is free in the Duck Pond lot on regatta days between 6:00 and 9:00AM. Overflow will be directed to NBG's main parking lot. After 9 AM, all access is through NBG's main entrance.
Fisherman's Gate is the entrance point to the regatta. There is a $5 per person admission fee (under 12 are admitted free with a paying parent). Admission is also waived for Coaches, crew team members, race officials and NBG members. After 9 AM, the admission fee is collected at NBG?s main entrance. Parents are encouraged to become Members of the Garden.
Vehicles may drop off or pick up rowers at Fisherman's Circle (the turnaround near finish line) but do not leave vehicles unattended.
If you are bringing food into the site, you may drive into the trailer parking area to drop off your items as long as you remove your vehicle from the trailer area by 7:00AM.
Please do not park any vehicles or set up tents or tables within three feet of vegetation as the park is concerned about their plants being damaged.
All programs are responsible for removing their own trash and for following all Botanical Garden Rules (including no pets allowed in park).
EVSRA is responsible for cleaning the restrooms in the Picnic area. Coaches, crew team members and parents are asked for their support to respect the use and cleanliness of the restrooms.
