River City Crew (RCC) competes in regattas (racing events) against public & private schools at various regattas from around the state including Occoquan Chase, Big Mathews, Head of the James, James River Regatta, Head of the Occoquan and the Occoquan Challenge. RCC rows during the spring, summer and fall seasons and is a member of the Eastern Virginia Scholastic Rowing Assocation (EVSRA).

At The 2016 EVSRA Spring Fling Regatta at Lake Whitehurst RCC put 18 boats on the water in 16 races. We placed 1st in 10 races: (WV4+,M2nd4+,W2X,WV8+,WLt4+,MN4+,WN8+,MV8+,WN4+, AND MV4+), 2nd in 4 races, 3rd in 3 races and 4th in one race.

The 2016 EVSRA Season Opener Regatta was held at Lake Whitehurst, conducted from a dedicated rowing site in the Norfolk Botanical Garden. RCC put 19 boats on the water and placed 1st in nine races (M1X, W1X, M2X, M2ndV4, WN4, WLt4, WV4, Mxd4 & Mxd8), 2nd in 6 races and 3rd in 4 races.

The HOTO! The Occoquan Boat Club sponsors one of the largest end of season regattas in the United States. The annual Head of the Occoquan is held at Sandy Run Regional Park in Fairfax, Virginia. River City Crew competed on Sunday, November 7th from 8:00AM-4:00PM on the Occoquan Reservoir.
