River City Crew holds "Learn-to-Row" (LTR) classes for rising 8th to rising 11th graders including beginners as well as intermediate / advanced Rowing Camp every summer. We also have the ability to have sculling lessons during the summer months as well. Learn-to-Row introduces first-timers to the equipment, procedures and basic techniques. The classes are a great way to learn more about the sport and make new friends. details
RCC offers rowing programs for new & member participants every year in 8th through 12th grades. The team is a "competitive-level program" specifically designed for students who do not have a rowing program associated with their high school. During the fall and spring seasons, the team travels throughout Virginia to compete in several regattas against other high schools and clubs.
BEGINNING IN THE SPRING OF 2015, NEW MEMBERS OF RCC WHO DON'T HAVE PREVIOUS ROWING EXPERIENCE BUT HAVE TAKEN OUR SUMMER LEARN-TO-ROW SESSIONS CAN JOIN OUR SPRING PROGRAM. There is limited LTR space available.12th graders are not accepted w/o rowing experience. details
