Here are some of the answers to the most frequently asked questions about rowing with River City Crew.
Rowing is perhaps the ultimate team sport. Successful rowers have outstanding endurance and physical conditioning and are able to synchronize their individual body movements with the other rowers in the boat such that every rower?s oar enters and leaves the water at the exact same time.

Do I need experience?
No! Novice rowing is specifically for people in their first year of high school rowing, 90 percent of whom have no previous rowing experience. Novice was created so that great high school athletes and non-athletes can have the chance to learn the sport and race against athletes of similar experience.
What type of athlete are you looking for?
We have had athletes of all shapes, sizes and from a variety of athletic backgrounds achieve great success as RCC rowers. The things they have all had in common are a great desire to work hard and a passion for excellence. We are also looking for great athletes to serve as coxswains. These team members serve as the eyes and brain of a crew, steering the shell, implementing the race plan, and motivating the crew to victory.

We seldom leave the dock before 4:15 and, if you arrive later, we can have you in the last boat to leave or pick you up at the dock. more
