River City Crew rows during the fall and spring seasons and is a member of the Eastern Virginia Scholastic Rowing Association (EVSRA). Throughout the year, River City Crew competes at regattas around the state of Virginia.
Parents, friends and family come to cheer on their crews as they compete with serious competitiors and socialize along the the river's edge. Usually held on Saturday (or Sunday), the Regattas are exciting racing competitions with as many as 15-20 different teams attending. They are always an all-day affair, starting early in the morning, usually lasting until mid-afternoon.
